Carbon Reduction Policy: Nexus Nova

Nexus Nova is committed to minimising its environmental impact and contributing to the global effort to combat climate change. As a UK-based company specialising in digital transformation, training, and software development for the NHS and healthcare organisations, we recognise our responsibility to reduce emissions, conserve natural resources, and champion sustainable digital practices.

The environment in which we work and live has never been subjected to as much change as it is now experiencing. Population growth, use of finite resources, and rising global emissions require proactive organisational stewardship. Nexus Nova is dedicated to operating sustainably and mitigating the carbon footprint of our operations.

Purpose & Aim

Nexus Nova balances environmental commitments with operational quality and public sector responsiveness. It is our stated aim to minimise carbon emissions and eliminate avoidable resource waste across all aspects of service delivery.

Scope & Strategic Objectives

The aim of this policy is for Nexus Nova to control its environmental impact through the following clear objectives:

  • Minimise our contribution to pollution by reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Embed minimum environmental standards into supplier selection and procurement processes.
  • Promote carbon emission awareness across all staff inductions and ongoing operations.
  • Monitor, report, and reduce emissions specifically generated from heating, electricity, and business travel.

Implementation Measures

Nexus Nova achieves its environmental goals through specific operational guidelines:

  1. Travel Optimisation: Selecting public transit and digital collaboration tools wherever possible, ensuring business travel occurs only when on-site presence is strictly necessary.
  2. Premises Efficiency: Optimising heating, LED lighting, and energy control systems within our offices to eliminate unnecessary consumption.
  3. Waste & Packaging Reduction: Prioritising paperless digital workflows, recycling 100% of suitable IT materials, cardboard, and packaging.
  4. Employee Awareness: Ensuring environmental obligations are introduced during onboarding and reinforced in team meetings.
  5. Central Reporting: Providing senior management with visibility over quarterly energy and emissions metrics.
  6. Sustainable Cloud Infrastructure: Partnering with energy-efficient, carbon-neutral data centre and cloud hosting providers for Nexus LMS and Neo.

Laws & Regulatory Compliance

We ensure strict compliance with all environmental laws and standards applicable in England and the United Kingdom, including:

  • The Climate Change Act (2008)
  • Climate Change Agreements Regulations SI 2018/1205
  • Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Regulations

Directors' Commitment

We, the Directors of Nexus Nova Ltd, pledge to provide the necessary resources to ensure that this policy is fully understood, implemented, and maintained across all levels of the organisation.
